With the release of Microsoft's Windows Vista 7 and Server a new feature named Network Discovery is introduced in the architecture. This means that if File and Printer sharing is not enabled and only Network Discovery is enabled files and printers cannot be accessed from the network.
Apparently one of the updates from the last month has affected this. Does anyone have any ideas on a resolution? Finally, and you can ignore this part if you want but, who cares if it works or not? I haven't used this "feature" since Windows for Workgroups. Just my 2 cents. Can you uninstall the updates one by one to see which one did it?
There was an update recently that broke group policy, but with 5 servers you may not have AD running. I found out I need also to set the computer browser service to start automatically. Ziv Ziv.
